One of six UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters arrives to pick up soldiers from 2nd Platoon, Company C, 1-14 Infantry Regiment before a battalion-sized night raid in Amadiyah in northern Iraq. The Golden Dragons captured four of seven midlevel insurgents targeted in the raid. See story.

A photo of Pfc. John D. Amos II, who was killed when a suicide bomber detonated two artillery shells on a Kirkuk street last Sunday, was displayed prominently during his memorial service. Amos' commander called the private first class a "quiet professional ... mature beyond his years." See story.

More than 500 Schofield-based soldiers have moved from the Tuz area, north into Tall Afar Air Base, about 50 miles west of Mosul, Iraq. They are reinforcing a Stryker Brigade Combat Team from Fort Lewis, Wash. See story.
