Age 33, from Kapolei, Hawai'i Army National Guard, 2nd Battalion, 299th Infantry, D Company commander. Civilian job: Honolulu Police Department patrol officer. Hello to my wife, Jena, my daughter Joanna, son Josh and the family support group. Our soldiers are doing a great job here despite the heat, long hours and being away from home. The support and love from our families back home is a big factor for them to continue doing the right thing and performing their mission. Something that we’ve never seen before is a sandstorm, which is really something different. It restricts a lot of our daily operations from not being able to see what’s in front of you to cleaning up everything that’s covered with dust.
