Meeting seals at Laysan By Jan TenBruggencate I walked far inland to avoid bothering a gray-brown mother seal and her sleek black pup, just south of the camp on Laysan. When I walked back an hour later, there were two moms there, and two black pups. Seal researcher Katherine Gunther-Murphy said one was just a day old.
