HANALEI BAY, Kaua'i —Hokule'a's departure has been delayed because extremely light and variable winds are forecast.

Capt. Nainoa Thompson last night revised the crew's time for reporting on board from noon today to noon tomorrow.

The canoe had been scheduled to sail at 9 a.m. tomorrow. No new departure time was announced. Normal trade winds were not expected until Tuesday, the National Weather Service reported last night.
