In 2004, The Advertiser began printing from its new $82 million dollar publishing plant. The state-of-the-art printing facility provides high-speed quality color reproduction and is used to print USA Today for the region. In April 2007, The Honolulu Advertiser received a "Best of the Best" and an "ACE" award, based on the USA Today "quality score" for printing in 2006. It earned the #1 monthly quality ranking five times and was highest in print quality over all USA Today papers printed nationwide.
