Police arrested a 39-year-old man in Waianae Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly hit the operator of a manapua truck in the face with a soda can in an attempt to take items that he could not pay for.

Police said the manapua vendor, a 59-year-old woman, received a deep cut on her lip.
The vendor identified the man, who was arrested a little past 4 p.m., on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
