SOUTHEAST ASAIN
All the major cuisines are represented in Hawai'i, though, of course, Asian and Southeast Asian restaurants are the most common. Here, we've selected a representative sample. (More Asian and Southeast Asian restaurants can be found in the chapters on dim sum, noodles, sushi bars, izakaya, takeout and yakiniku.)
GREEN PAPAYA
Bill and Heidi Trang's three small eateries are a bit different from the average Vietnamese spot not so focused on ph? as some places are, a little bit more Hawai'i-influenced than usual. Try the vegetarian stir-fry, the tofu summer rolls, the lemongrass chicken. If you like spicy, they can lay it on.
