FINE DINING

When it's time to dine (as opposed to just eat), these are O'ahu's most revered places.

CHAI'S ISLAND BISTRO

Owner Chai Chaowasaree's gentle touch is everywhere in this restaurant: in the polite but warm welcome, in the tinkling fountain and cascade of orchids, in the live contemporary Hawaiian music (increasingly rare in restaurants) and in the food prepared under the direction of chef Jason Takemura. The restaurant has been recognized by major food media for Euro-Asian creations, such as the signature appetizer platter, equally delightful to eyes and palate.
