In its second-floor location in a Manoa shopping plaza, Donato's quietly goes about carrying out the vision of Puglia-born chef-owner Donato Loperfido. The fare is Italian regional; the surroundings are pleasant; the wines by the glass well-selected. Specialties include spezzatino di carni miste (a rich stew of beef, veal, sausage and lamb, served in a clay crock with borlotti beans, in a roasted garlic and truffle sauce) and tasting menus that are an excellent value.
