2004 'ILIMA AWARD WINNER - STEAK HOUSES
Sometimes, you just want that steakhouse experience — the fragrance of grilling wood chips and sizzling meat, the hearty side dishes and a glass of red. Here are our recommendations.

Best Fine Dining Restaurant
RUTH'S CHRIS STEAK HOUSE

This dinner house, favored by Honolulu's business community, epitomizes the Ruth's Chris approach: custom-aged Midwestern beef, fired over an 1,800-degree grill, literally sizzling in butter, accompanied by a variety of over-the-top sides (big enough for sharing) with a New Orleans accent. Also, veal, lamb, chicken, lobster and fresh seafood specials. The wine cellar is exceptional.

Restaurant Row, 500 Ala Moana. 599-3860. www.ruthschris.com. Dinner: 5-10 p.m. daily. Reservations recommended. Valet and self-parking. VS, MC, AX, DC, JCB. No checks. $$$.
