CASUAL DINING

As we define it for this guide, casual dining is a state of mind. It doesn't necessarily mean inexpensive, though it usually implies good value — getting as much or more than you paid for. It doesn't necessarily mean shorts and slippers, though it suggests a relaxed dress code.

HAU TREE LANAI, New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel

Possessed of one of the best restaurant locations on the island, the Hau Tree Lanai (which is outfitted with an actual hau tree and some pretty spectacular people-watching on Sans Souci Beach), offers local-style Pacific Rim Cuisine three meals a day, including such specialities as Eggs Benedict Kaimana, Seafood Kaimana Mixed Grill and Gemini Lobster Tail. It's a must for visiting friends and families and enchanting at night.
