CASUAL DINING
As we define it for this guide, casual dining is a state of mind. It doesn't necessarily mean inexpensive, though it usually implies good value getting as much or more than you paid for. It doesn't necessarily mean shorts and slippers, though it suggests a relaxed dress code.
JACKIE'S KITCHEN

| Rochelle Windston and Cheryl Thielen of La'ie and Darlene Bujak of Kane'ohe share a meal at Jackie's Kitchen, owned by star Jackie Chan. It features specialty drinks and a great pupu menu.

This new spot, meant to be the flagship of a Jackie Chan chain, is as much about souvenir items, specialty drinks and watching Jackie Chan videos as it is about food. We like to nosh on the pupu menu during shopping breaks. Busy, noisy, kinda fun. Try the coconut shrimp ($8.95); roast chicken ($14.95) spiced with lemongrass, ginger, garlic; barbecue ribs.
