2004 'ILIMA AWARD WINNER - CASUAL DINING
As we define it for this guide, casual dining is a state of mind. It doesn't necessarily mean inexpensive, though it usually implies good value — getting as much or more than you paid for. It doesn't necessarily mean shorts and slippers, though it suggests a relaxed dress code.

ZIPPY'S

A TV promotion captured the Zippy's story: It is, indeed, an inevitable "next stop" for locals for a quick Zip-pack bento or a more leisurely all-inclusive meal, for picking up cakes or pies at Napoleon's bakery or a tub of chili and rice to serve at the softball potluck. Stumped about where to go late at night, or unable to agree on a place for lunch or breakfast, O'ahu residents tend to end up at Zippy's. It's gone a bit upscale of late, with some outlets open 24 hours, and some having full bars.
