ITALIAN (AND PIZZA)

All the major cuisines are represented in Hawai'i, though, of course, Asian and Southeast Asian restaurants are the most common. Here, we've selected a representative sample. (More Asian and Southeast Asian restaurants can be found in the chapters on dim sum, noodles, sushi bars, izakaya, takeout and yakiniku.)

C & C PASTA CO.

Carla Magziar's beloved neighborhood deli-cum-restaurant has a faithful following that keeps weekend dinners especially busy. The fare is regional Italian, including such unusual offerings as Parmigiano Gelato (a cheesy bruschetta appetizer you should not miss) and warm shrimp salad (to die). Osso buco night once a month is a sellout.
