  BAKERIES

Take a look around any interisland airport terminal and you'll see folks toting grease-stained bakery boxes tied with string or suspended in plastic bags. We just love our baked goods and we love to give them as gifts. Here are some of our favorite O'ahu bakeries, with their specialties.

Ted's Bakery

This family-owned North Shore landmark is both a bakery and a small take-out deli with a few tables out front where surfers and local boys eat garlic shrimp plate lunches. The bakery's reputation is built on pies, particularly the trademark, double-decker chocolate haupia pie — but also custard, peach Bavarian, banana cream and other flavors.
