  BUFFET

If you build a buffet, we will come. Islanders love big spreads, and many restaurants use buffets to build business. Unfortunately, quantity doesn't always make for quality.

The Willows

This is what a Hawai'i restaurant should look like: a garden atmosphere, dining spaces perched over ponds, the feel of a Hawaiian hale. The buffet, housed in its own room, is a what's what of local favorites from kama'aina-style curry to Hawaiian specialties and sushi. The latest addition at The Willows is quite a departure: a restaurant within a restaurant called J at The Willows, a project of executive chef Jay Matsukawa, who took over a former banquet room on the restaurant's second floor and created a select "rustic French" menu with Asian accents and a more formal, white-tablecloth atmosphere.
