  BURGERS AND BARBECUE

O'ahu is home to dozens of food establishments that specialize in doing one thing very, very well. Here's a sampling of restaurants that know burgers and barbecue.

Bob's Bar-B-Que

This spot, a strictly takeout location in an industrial area, offers both East and West styles of barbecue: slow-smoked ribs in tomatoey sauce; Korean-style kal bi and Japanese-style teriyaki meats. Though the beef ribs come in impressively huge servings, our preference here is for the more delicate and tender baby-back pork ribs. The kal bi is good but can't compete with Korean barbecue houses that specialize in this dish. A specialty that is worth trying is grilled Polish sausage with Bob's baked beans.
