Deb's Ribs
Debra Hopkins' down-home comfort food causes enough of a fuss that diners make the drive to Kailua from all over the island for a taste of her wet, slow-cooked-then-grilled baby back pork ribs. Coated with a sweet, tangy sauce that's got a mild, peppery kick, the meat has a bit of lacquer-like caramelizing on the outside that makes it hard to stop at a single order. This modest eatery also serves up a satisfying sweet-potato pie, if you can manage to save room for dessert.
