Le Bistro

Chef Alan Takasaki's "Cheese and Apples" from Le Bistro is an innovative take on classic cordon bleu: Camembert-stuffed chicken garnished with grilled apples.

Once through the door of this Niu Valley Shopping Center storefront, you are in an altogether different environment, a somehow very French-feeling space of butter-colored walls with crimson trim, starched tablecloths and flower arrangements. Foie gras with red currants and quince; a salad of Kahuku corn and sweet, tender greens; Slow & Low Short Ribs; a bottle of Châteauneuf-du-Pape each appear in effortless progression. No wonder East-side food cognoscenti consider this their private dining room. Just lovely.
