FINE DINING
|
| It's difficult, sometimes, to differentiate fine dining from casual in Hawai'i — restaurants here are rarely formal and less than a handful have a dress code. When we think of fine dining, however, we think of careful attention to detail, in food, in service, in surroundings. |

L'Uraku
Under the direction of corporate chef Shuji Abe, L'Uraku has maintained its quality despite the departure of celebrity chef Hiroshi Fukui. Its contemporary Euro-Japanese personality is express- ed in signature dishes of misoyaki butterfish and seared sea scallops with bacon-takana ragout and kabayaki beurre blanc. Executive and weekender lunches offer a quick way to experience the place with good value. Artist/chef Kiyoshi's hand-painted umbrellas add splashes of color to the light-filled interior.
