Hau Tree Lanai, New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel

The primary draw here is location, location, location: The freshly renovated lobby bar and sand-side restaurant under the venerable hau tree (watch your head) are favorite places to take out-of-town company who want to eat somewhere with a beach view — and between the sunsets and the beach hotties, there's always something to see. Contemporary Island fare.

New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel, 2863 Kalakaua Ave. 921-7066. Breakfast: 7-11 a.m. daily. Lunch: 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Saturday, noon-2 p.m. First, third and fifth Sundays. Dinner: 5:30-9 p.m. daily. Sunday Brunch (2nd and 4th Sundays): noon-2 p.m. Bar hours: 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Reservations recommended. Valet and self-parking. VS, MC, AX, DC, DS, JCB. Checks accepted.
