  CASUAL DINING

When we're not in a dress-up mood, when it's lunch with a friend or dinner with a crowd, when we want to eat well without breaking the bank, these are the restaurants we choose.

La Mariana Restaurant & Bar

This is the real deal when it comes to an original tiki bar, outfitted with tchochkes from previous tiki bars, such as the beloved Tahitian Lanai. It's a hangout for kama'aina who enjoy heartfelt group sing-alongs around the piano bar. The food remains in period — breaded shrimp, pepper steak, mahimahi Florentine — but atmosphere and owner Annette Nahinu's sense of fun is the real draw.
