  CASUAL DINING

When we're not in a dress-up mood, when it's lunch with a friend or dinner with a crowd, when we want to eat well without breaking the bank, these are the restaurants we choose.

Ninnikuya, The Garlic Restaurant

If you truly believe there is no such thing as too much garlic, this is a must-visit for you. Even the ice cream here has garlic in it. A Japan-based chain has done a charming job in this former bungalow in Kaimuki, creating a warm, folksy feel to go with the garlic steaks, garlic mashed potatoes, sorbet in garlic sauce.
