  CASUAL DINING

When we're not in a dress-up mood, when it's lunch with a friend or dinner with a crowd, when we want to eat well without breaking the bank, these are the restaurants we choose.

Sam Choy's Breakfast, Lunch & Crab

Despite the fact that it's a brewery restaurant with its own line of Big Aloha beers, this cavernous, echoing Iwilei warehouse is a distinctly family-friendly place where the kids can clamber over a fishing boat on one side of the dining room, and nobody complains about noise or mess. Adults like it for friendly, ample pau-hana pupu and the daily seafood fest of fresh fish and crustacean dishes, plus more varieties of loco moco than almost anyplace else. The location and hours makes it ideal for visits en route to or from the airport.
