  BAKERIES

Take a look around any interisland airport terminal, and you'll see folks toting grease-stained bakery boxes tied with string or suspended in plastic bags. We just love our baked goods, and we love to give them as gifts. Here are some of our favorite O'ahu bakeries, with their specialties.

Agnes Portuguese Bake Shop

Founded by Agnes and Tommy Wright 30 years ago, this is all that a bakery should be: clean, bright and packed with delicious things, plus coffee and Internet access. Our faves: fresh-fried malassadas, raspberry-stuffed Russian tea cakes and other Portuguese specialties. Friendly, efficient staff under Non deMello and Christian Sorli.
