  BAKERIES

Take a look around any interisland airport terminal, and you'll see folks toting grease-stained bakery boxes tied with string or suspended in plastic bags. We just love our baked goods, and we love to give them as gifts. Here are some of our favorite O'ahu bakeries, with their specialties.

Ted's Bakery

It's the pies that make this worth the drive to this spot near Sunset Beach on the North Shore (though you can get the pies at a number of Honolulu outlets): the signature chocolate haupia but also peach Bavarian and banana cream pies. Island-style breakfasts and plate lunches draw regulars to picnic tables out front, including shoyu chicken and garlic shrimp.
