  BREAKFAST, BRUNCH, BUFFET

Islanders are inordinately fond of the three "Bs" — breakfast, brunch, buffet. When The Advertiser sent out a call for nominees for best breakfast spot a while back, we got an avalanche, with many strong opinions. And because we are so volume- and value-conscious, brunches and buffet spreads have strong appeal.

Boots & Kimo's Homestyle Kitchen

Barbecue for breakfast? Just ask the many regulars who crowd this family-oriented breakfast-and-lunch-only restaurant for the pulehu (grilled) short ribs as well as heaping plates of American standards such as pancakes (with the restaurant's signature macadamia nut syrup). Lines can and do form.
