  BREAKFAST, BRUNCH, BUFFET

Islanders are inordinately fond of the three "Bs" — breakfast, brunch, buffet. When The Advertiser sent out a call for nominees for best breakfast spot a while back, we got an avalanche, with many strong opinions. And because we are so volume- and value-conscious, brunches and buffet spreads have strong appeal.

Cinnamon's Restaurant

Hidden in Kailua Square, just off Uluniu Street, this family-owned spot gets the nod from readers for the food (eggs benedict, loco moco omelets and pancakes) and the considerate service (coffee and a newspaper while you wait for a seat; go in more than once and they'll call you by name). Chef-partner Carsie Green invents specials such as carrot-and-raisin pancakes with sweet-sour cream topping.
