  BREAKFAST, BRUNCH, BUFFET

Islanders are inordinately fond of the three "Bs" — breakfast, brunch, buffet. When The Advertiser sent out a call for nominees for best breakfast spot a while back, we got an avalanche, with many strong opinions. And because we are so volume- and value-conscious, brunches and buffet spreads have strong appeal.

Duke's Canoe Club, Outrigger Waikiki Hotel

Duke's is a bar, a steak and seafood house, and a popular hangout, close to the beach and often crowded and a bit raucous. But for value in a daily Waikiki brunch buffet, it is All That: $14.95 for made-to-order omelets, eggs Benedict, pancakes and waffles, breakfast meats, all the accompaniments.
