When The Advertiser sent out a call for nominees for best breakfast spot a while back, we got an avalanche, with many strong opinions. And because we are so volume- and value-conscious, brunches and buffet spreads have strong appeal.

Be ready to sit and talk story with other hungry breakfast lovers while you wait: The three Koa outlets are eternally busy because people love the hearty, quickly served and economical spreads of standard breakfast fare, as well as specialties such as vinha d'ahlos (Portuguese pickled pork).™
