  CASUAL DINING

When we don't want to dress up, when the budget is a bit busted, when we're hanging out with the gang, these are the restaurants we choose. There's considerable variation among them in price, food style and atmosphere, but all cultivate a relaxed feeling and, in most cases, there's no need for reservations or anything fancier than T-shirt and slippers.

Dixie Grill

When you've got a hankering for hush puppies, chicken-fried steak, grits and gravy or Cajun-style crab on O'ahu, head for Dixie Grill BBQ & Crab Shack because that's just about your only choice. The restaurants on Ward Avenue and in 'Aiea serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and you can fill up on your Southern favorites, including several different styles of barbecue. The classic rock 'n' roll is great to listen to, and the restaurants are extremely kid-friendly.
