  CASUAL DINING

When we don't want to dress up, when the budget is a bit busted, when we're hanging out with the gang, these are the restaurants we choose. There's considerable variation among them in price, food style and atmosphere, but all cultivate a relaxed feeling and, in most cases, there's no need for reservations or anything fancier than T-shirt and slippers.

Hau Tree Lanai, New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel

Possessed of one of the best restaurant locations on the Island, the Hau Tree Lanai (which is outfitted with an actual hau tree and some pretty spectacular people-watching on Sans Souci Beach), offers local-style Pacific Rim cuisine three meals a day, including such specialities as Eggs Benedict Kaimana, Seafood Kaimana Mixed Grill and Gemini Lobster Tail.
