CASUAL DINING
| When we don't want to dress up, when the budget is a bit busted, when we're hanging out with the gang, these are the restaurants we choose. There's considerable variation among them in price, food style and atmosphere, but all cultivate a relaxed feeling and, in most cases, there's no need for reservations or anything fancier than T-shirt and slippers. |

House Without a Key, Halekulani hotel |
House Without a Key, a seaside open-air dining room and courtyard, is this exclusive hotel's version of a coffee shop, serving a generous daily breakfast buffet and lunch and dinner of the classic American sort (burgers, salads, sandwiches at lunch; grilled meats and fish and pasta at dinner and new Tuesday night open-air grilling). The draw here is the setting and the nightly live music and hula; it's the premier spot to bring out-of-town guests for sunset, drinks and a gracious Hawai'i experience.
