  CASUAL DINING

When we don't want to dress up, when the budget is a bit busted, when we're hanging out with the gang, these are the restaurants we choose. There's considerable variation among them in price, food style and atmosphere, but all cultivate a relaxed feeling and, in most cases, there's no need for reservations or anything fancier than T-shirt and slippers.

OnJin's Cafe

OnJin Kim's little restaurant on a Kaka'ako side street is a popular lunch cafe by day and a more staid sit-down dinner house by night. Kim, who has an operatic voice and an equally skilled hand with sophisticated Pacific Rim cuisine, creates such standards as rack of lamb, bouillabaisse, misoyaki salmon and boeuf bourguignon. A restaurant you can count on for a pleasant meal.
