  CASUAL DINING

When we don't want to dress up, when the budget is a bit busted, when we're hanging out with the gang, these are the restaurants we choose. There's considerable variation among them in price, food style and atmosphere, but all cultivate a relaxed feeling and, in most cases, there's no need for reservations or anything fancier than T-shirt and slippers.

Sam Choy's Breakfast Lunch & Crab

At Sam Choy's family-friendly restaurant and microbrewery, seafood is at the center of the menu: seared 'ahi sashimi, fried poke and crab six ways. Also a specialty here: Sam-size breakfasts, including many varieties of moco (hot rice, meat or fish, eggs and gravy over all — we like the pork chops) plus the trademark beef stew omelet and the fisherman's platter (grilled fish and eggs).
