BAKERIES
Ted's Bakery
Not everyone goes to Sunset Beach for the waves. Across the street is North Shore staple Ted's Bakery, where people head to buy pies banana cream, peach Bavarian and the signature chocolate haupia. (Note: The pies are also available at a number of Honolulu outlets, such as Foodland.) Island-style breakfasts and plate lunches draw regulars especially North Shore surfers and campers to picnic tables out front, for the shoyu chicken and garlic shrimp.
