AMERICAN CONTEMPORARY
The Pavilion Cafe
We wish Mike Nevin's little lunch-only bistro was open for dinner as well. It would be so lovely to be able to dine on his Mediterranean-accented food while watching dusk fall while surrounded by artwork and water features on the campus of the Honolulu Academy of Arts. The menu includes bright, light compositions such as the heartbreakingly tender filet mignon on a house-made bun with Dijon-caper relish, and mahimahi soba salad with cucumber-mint relish and shoyu-lime vinaigrette. There'd be an uprising of art matrons if he took them off the list.
