Wailana Coffee House  Past 'Ilima Award winner Cheap eats restaurant Local classic eatery
The Tom family's sprawling coffee shop and bar, opened in 1970, appeals to a wide range of folks: Seniors like the reliable, familiar menu (Belgian waffles, canned peaches with cottage cheese, burgers, sandwiches, “broasted” chicken, liver with fried onions), and more-than-reasonable prices. Night owls and early risers like the hours. Tourists and Waikiki residents enjoy the convenience. A multiple 'Ilima Award winner in the past, Wailana is best known for hearty breakfasts (all-you-can-eat pancakes) and value-priced complete dinners like Salisbury steak with your choice of soup, salad bar or fruit cocktail; fries, whipped potatoes or rice; and, of course, a roll. Just like old times.
