CHEAP EATS
Gulick Delicatessen
Lee and Cory Makishi have taken over their parents' venerable deli on a residential street in upper Kalihi, and the line forms on the left (once you find a parking spot). This was one of the first okazuya to be discovered by nonlocal media, adding to the traffic. We love the immense corned-beef and potato hash patties and the fried chicken. In 2007, Gulick opened a King Street location and holy cone sushi! after selling okazuya items all day, it turns into Kochi, a lounge with fancy food.
