The Willows
For more than 60 years, The
Willows has been a place
where Island families celebrate
special events, entertain visitors
and enjoy a bountiful local-style
buffet at reasonable prices. With its
gardens, fountain and ponds over
which dining areas perch, it's the
type of place people picture when
they think of romantic old-style
Hawai'i. Chef Jay Matsukawa oversees
preparation of the trademark
whole suckling pig, garlic- and saltcrusted
prime rib, and specials such
as lamb chops are laid out alongside
Hawaiian food (laulau, kalua pig,
lomilomi salmon), misoyaki butterfish
and kalbi ribs. And there's always the
kama'aina-style yellow curry (shrimp
or chicken) with all those condiments
to sprinkle on top. Monthly
beer-tasting events have been attracting
a crowd of young professionals,
too.
