When are the elections?

The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 2.

Can I still register to vote?

Oct. 4 was the deadline for the general election.

I voted in 2002. Do I need to re-register?

No, unless you have moved or changed your name.

Who is eligible to vote?

You must be a U.S. citizen, a legal resident of Hawai'i and at least 18 years old on election day.

How do I register to vote?

The easiest way is with a "Wikiwiki" mail-in registration form. The one-page forms are available at:

  • Public libraries.
  • Post offices.
  • County clerk's offices and satellite city halls.
  • Verizon Hawaii yellow pages and Paradise Pages Oahu telephone directory.
  • Most state agencies.
  • Online

People may also register to vote in person at their county clerk's office.

General election basics

• The general election is Tuesday, Nov 2. Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Walk-in absentee voting sites are open through Oct 30. Any registered voter may vote early. Here is a list of sites:

O'ahu:

  • Pearlridge Center, Uptown
  • Windward Mall
  • Kapolei Hale, 1000 Uluohia St.

Big Island:

  • County Building, Hilo
  • Kona mayor's office, 75-5706 Kuakini Highway
  • Waimea Community Center

  • N. Kona District Courthouse.

Maui:

  • County Building, Wailuku, seventh floor

Moloka'i:

  • Mitchell Pauole Center, Kaunakakai

Kaua'i:
