Name: Jason Castle
Age: 28
Neighborhood: McCully
Profession: Sommelier, Brasserie Du Vin
How do you describe your style? Eye-catching, eclectic, never drab or boring. Sommeliers are so often somber and serious, but wine should be fun. By dressing the way I do, it makes wine less serious and intimidating.
What's your favorite item in your closet? I'm obsessed with hats.
What would we never see you wearing? Unless I'm at the beach, you'd never see me wear shorts. Otherwise, nothing is untouchable.
Who is your style icon? Old movie stars in general, but Humphrey Bogart in particular.
Most recent purchase? At a hat store in Portland, Ore., I bought four leather 1920s newspaper boy hats.
What are you willing to pay more for to get top quality? Suits. I wear them socially here because it's shocking.
What's the best bargain you've ever purchased? Everything from Goodwill. It's the most underrated fashion store there is.
What can you never get enough of? Paisley shirts, ties, jackets anything paisley.
Biggest self-indulgence? Wine, women and song.
Last movie you saw? "The Departed."
Last book you read? This is going to sound weird, but it was "Einstein's Theory of Relativity." It's one of those books, like the Bible, that everyone talks about, and you should know what they're talking about.
Who cuts your hair? A bartender friend from Indigo, Mary Peter.
Do you carry a bag? What's in it? I recently bought a man purse by Grange and, no, I don't shy away from the word "purse" and I have one by Diesel. I stuff them with a cell phone, Chapstick, breath mints, wine key, car keys and wallet.
Favorite new gadget? I hate technology. It scares me to death.
Pet fashion peeve? The braided-belt-tucked-in-aloha-shirt look.
Best thing about your job? The people. My job is to guide people through the dining experience. I live vicariously through every guest.
Worst thing about it? It involves you in a lifestyle that can become taxing, with late nights every night. It's not 9 to 5.
Favorite hobby? Wine is a big part of my life outside of work. Also, I'm an obsessive billiards player.
Little-known fact about you? I'm obsessed with theater and opera.
Fashion philosophy? To keep people guessing. To quote Oscar Wilde: "We need to shock them."
