Day of fitness, fun for a good cause

Kaho'omiki, the Hawai'i Council on Physical Activity and Sports, is holding its first fundraiser to benefit Fun 5, which encourages keiki in the A-Plus program in 173 schools to exercise five days a week and eat five servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
FACE — Fun Active Community Expo — is 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 2 at Wet'n'Wild Hawaii. There will be a "Got Moves" dance contest from noon to 2 p.m. Drawing prizes include a trip for two to Las Vegas. Get tickets, $25, at www.kahoomiki.org or at the door for cash only.

GREEN CONFERENCE
'PREPARING WORKFORCE' TOPIC AT KCC
The University of Hawai'i Community Colleges energy and sustainability team is hosting a "Green Now Conference: Preparing the Workforce for the Energy Revolution," 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow at Kapi'olani Community College.
Blue Planet Foundation founder Henk Rogers is the keynote speaker. The nonprofit's mission is to make Hawai'i a global leader in energy independence, ending global dependence on carbon-based fuel in the process.The registration fee is $39. To register, or for additional information, call 734-9211.
