COVINGTON, Ky. — Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga (mow-uh-LOO’-guh) has pleaded guilty to drunken driving. He received a suspended jail sentence and apologized to the team and community.
Maualuga brought a quick ending to his case Tuesday in a northern Kentucky court. He was arrested four days ago after police said he hit a parking meter and two parked cars early Friday morning.
A court hearing had been scheduled for Feb. 25.
The rookie linebacker changed his plea and received a seven-day suspended jail sentence. He also was fined $350 and his driver’s license was suspended for 90 days.
