Honolulu Fire Department rescue crews used a hydraulic rescue tool to free a woman trapped in a car following a two-car collision on the H-1 Freeway just before the 'Aiea cutoff.
HFD units arrived at the scene around 3:46 a.m. and found the female driver of one of the vehicles trapped in her car in the eastbound lane.
It took less than 20 minutes for rescue workers to free the woman, who was then taken to the Queen's Medical Center, according to HFD spokesperson Capt. Robert Main. Her condition is unknown.
HFD personnel remained at the scene for more than an hour to clean spilled automotive fluids and clear debris from the road.
