The McDonald’s restaurant on Käneçohe Bay Drive closed today to make way for rebuilding the restaurant.

The project, which is part of an ongoing plan by the chain to update its restaurants in Hawaiçi, will produce a new restaurant with improved drive-thru traffic flow, a contemporary look and better water and energy efficiency, the company said.
McDonald’s said the new restaurant is projected to open in the spring.
