Volleyball Warriors rally to beat Pacific

Freshman opposite Jonas Umlauft had 21 kills and junior left-side hitter Joshua Walker added 17 as ninth-ranked Hawai'i rallied past host Pacific, 27-30, 33-31, 30-25, 30-22, last night in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball match.
Umlauft added nine digs and five blocks and senior middle Matt Rawson had 10 kills and eight blocks for Hawai'i (3-3, 1-2).
Taylor Hughes and Florian Gornik each had 23 kills for the Tigers (4-3, 0-3).
After dropping the first set when UOP hit .429, the Warriors won the pivotal second set that was tied at 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 before a UOP hitting error and Rawson's kill won it.
Hawai'i, which hit .154 in the second set, hit .268 in the third and .448 in the fourth to pull out its first MPSF win of the season.
The teams play again tonight at the Spanos Center in Stockton, Calif.
