State flag lowered to honor former lawmaker Mitsuo 'Mits' Shito

The state flag is flying at half-staff at state and county buildings today in honor of former state Rep. Mitsuo “Mits” Shito.
He died last month. Burial services were set for today.
Shito served in the state House of Representatives from 1974 to 1988. He also served as executive director of the Hawaii Housing Authority and as board president of the Waikele Community Association.
Shito was also a retired command sergeant major in the Hawaii National Army Guard.
