Baldwin's Isagawa, Campbell's Cabalar win girls, boys state golf titles
Baldwin's Cassy Isagawa won by a shot and Campbell's Rudy Cabalar won in a playoff to win the girls and boys titles, respectively, in today's David S. Ishii Foudation/HHSAA State Golf Championship at Turtle Bay.
Isagawa, the first-round leader, shot 74—147, one stroke ahead of Kaua'i's Kelli Oride to win the girls individual title. 'Iolani's Marissa Chow was third at 150.
Isagawa made an 8-foot par putt on the final hole to win it while Oride barely missed a birdie putt to tie.
Cabalar birdied the first playoff hole to defeat Nainoa Calip of Kamehameha-Hawaii.
Punahou won the girls team title, led by Alina Ching's fourth-place (151) finish. Punahou and Baldwin were tied for first after yesterday's first round. The Buffanblu finished the two-day tournament at 455, eight strokes ahead of Baldwin.
Punahou's boys won the team title.
