A 24-year-old Mo'ili'ili man was arrested Thursday for suspicion of multiple felony offenses following a 1 p.m. altercation with his former girlfriend at her Nu'uanu apartment.
Police said the woman told them the ex-boyfriend came to her apartment, began to argue with her and hit her in the head.
She said she fell to the floor and that the man straddled her stomach, put one of his hands over her mouth to keep her from screaming and took out a knife, waving it in front of her face and upper body, resulting in cuts to her arms and upper chest, the woman told police.
At one point, the suspect dropped the knife, a struggle ensued and the her ex-boyfriend punched her in the head several times when she began to scream, the woman said.
